This is a very welcome addition to the brewpub scene in London. I may stand corrected, but I believe this is the first purpose-built brewpub in the capital.
It's part of the massive Stratford City development that includes the massive Westfield Shopping Centre and, very conveniently, situated right outside the Stratford International station, next to the Great Eastern Market section which concentrates on food.
Trains going to Kent via the HS1 High Speed line on their way out of London St Pancras stop here.
So, considering this, it is quite a small pub, although there is a huge patio area outside which will come into its own during the summer months.
Important Information:
Tap East, 7 International Square, Westfield, Stratford City, London
Open: Monday-Saturday 11:00-23:00; Sunday 12:00-22:00
One minute walk from Stratford International Station, 3 minutes from Stratford International DLR Station, about 5 minutes from Stratford City Bus Station and a little more to Stratford Underground and Main Line Station.
